Refining Leadership Skills
Arnold Klement is a Fire Service Instructor who served 37 years as a First Responder. He began his career in 1987 as an Emergency Medical Technician for a private ambulance in Los Angeles County. Then he successfully completed the Mt. San Antonio College Paramedic program (Class V) in 1989, and began working for Schaefer Ambulance. In 1991 his fire service career began at Montebello Fire Dept (MFD) where he was a part of the training cadre, Urban Search and Rescue team, Swift Water Rescue Team and headed up the Spark of Love Toy Drive for MFD. After 17 years and promoting to Fire Engineer/Paramedic he was hired by Chino Valley Independent Fire District (CVFD) in 2008. He served at CVFD for 16 years and was a part of the training task force, new hire testing and training cadre, Urban Search and Rescue team, Driver Training cadre, Engineer Promotional testing and Media/Marketing team. He promoted to Fire Engineer and then to Fire Captain and in 2024 retired due to work related injuries.
Arnold has been an Office of the State Fire Marshall State Fire Training (SFT) Primary Instructor since 2017. He's an Instructor for Red Helmet Training in Rancho Cucamonga teaching various National Wildfire Coordinating Group, SFT Company Officer and SFT Apparatus Operator courses. Delievering instruction for various fire departments and at locations throughout California have been great opportunities for Arnold to provide training to individuals seeking CICCS positions and leadership promotions for All-Hazard fire departments. His instruction focusses on preparing students for leadership roles and refining fire service leadership skills as well as professionalism in the fire service.
